Hosted by the Good Neighbours Committee at the Vanderhoof Friendship Centre, these workshops took place over three 3-hour sessions on March 8–9, 2024.
Led by Aisha Kiani, founder of I Dream Library, the sessions were rooted in transformative justice and involved discussion about community inclusion values and setting boundaries, learning about the historical and present-day contexts that have normalized oppression, and engaging in prompted forum theatre to practice intervention methods that address behaviour rather than the person.
Online community aftercare sessions were also offered, providing space for participants to share ongoing experiences, feedback, challenges, and successes.
